Seminarian Ordained to the Diaconate

On December 4, 2011, the Feast of the Entrance of the Theotokos into the Temple, Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal and Canada ordained fourth-year seminarian Igor Grytsyna to the diaconate. During the Sixth Hour, Archbishop Gabriel made Grytsyna a reader and then a subdeacon, and ordained him to the deaconate during the liturgy. Reader Ephraim Willmarth, assistant to Archimandrite Luke, the seminary dean and rector, was also made a subdeacon. Deacon Igor will serve daily during the Nativity Fast as a deacon, and on the third day of Nativity be ordained to the priesthood.
