A Preliminary Dissertation Defense
at the Moscow Theological Academy Department of Church History
On October 12th, 2010, a faculty meeting was held at the Moscow Theological Academy by the chair of the Church History Department, Professor Alexey K. Svetozarsky.
Besides members of the M.T.A. faculty, the meeting was attended by Anatolii N. Kashevarov, Doctor of History, professor at St. Petersburg State Pedagogical University; Archpriest Alexei Marchenko, Doctor of History; Mikhail V. Shkarovskii, Doctor of History, professor at St. Petersburg Theological Academy; and Andrei A. Kostriukov, Candidate of Theology, instructor at the Orthodox St. Tikons’s Humanitarian University.
During the meeting, the candidacy dissertation of Archpriest Vladimir Tsurikov, dean of Holy Trinity Seminary (Jordanville, NY), titled “Archive of the Holy Trinity Theological Seminary (Jordanville, USA) As a Source of Study of Russian Church History of the 20th century,” was successfully presented for preliminary defense.
Additionally, the topics of bachelor’s degree and candidacy degree theses were discussed and approved.
