Aleksei F. Zakharin gave a presentation at Holy Trinity Seminary titled
“Questions regarding the Authenticy of the Last Romanov’s Remains”
The lecture, which outlined the history of the Royal family’s remains, took place on March 16 in the Seminary hall. Fr. Vladimir Tsurikov, dean of Holy Trinity Seminary, introduced the lecturer Aleksei Feodorovich Zakharin, a scientist who personally took part in the identification of the Royal passion-bearers’ remains.
Aleksei Feodorovich described in detail the history of the godless crime that occurred in Yekaterinburg and the remains’ discovery. He also explained to the audience how scientists were able to properly identify the corpses found in the “Ganina Iama” (Pit of Ganin), as well as the problems and controversies surrounding the discovery. The lecturer shared his thoughts on the state of modern science and its capabilities and concluded that the state-of-the-art scientific evidence confirms, without a doubt, that the discovered Royal remains are authentic.
The presentation drew many questions from the audience, to which Aleksei Feodorovich had convincing answers. We would like to thank A.F. Zakharin for the very substantive talk on history, and invite him to visit our monastery again soon!
