The third week of Great Lent, the week of the Cross, at Holy Trinity Seminary
On Saturday and Sunday, the 6th -7th of March, 2010 services were held at Holy Trinity Monastery for the third week of Great Lent which is dedicated to the Holy Cross. The Cross, decorated with flowers, was brought out into the temple for veneration.
The willingness to humbly carry one's cross is one of the most important virtues to which the Christian is called. It was not simply by chance the one of the Sundays of Great Lent was devoted to the remembrance of the Cross as a weapon of our salvation.
Students of the Seminary took an active part in the services, singing on the kliros and serving in the Altar. There was quite a number of visitors from the Serbian parish from New York, present at the services. The Abbot of Holy Trinity Monastery, Archimandrite Luke greeted the guests warmly and expressed the hope of their coming to see the monastery and to participate in the services again.
Before Thy Cross we bow down in worship, O Master. And Thy Holy Resurrection we glorify!
