Consecration of new Iconostas in the Church of St. Job of Pochaev at Holy Trinity Monastery
On November 29, 2009, after the Divine Liturgy was served in the upper church of the Holy Trinity Cathedral, the monastery brotherhood, along with faculty and students of the seminary and a number of pilgrims, present at the monastery for the extended weekend, descended into the lower church of St. Job of Pochaev for the consecration of the new iconostas. The iconostas was made in Russia and gifted by Ekaterina Vladimirovna Anisimova and her husband, Vasilii Vasilievich Anisimov. Andrei Vukolov, the master of wood sculpting who carved the iconostas was in Jordanville to supervise the installation. From the week following the consecration, the monastery’s everyday services will take place in the lower church of St. Job of Pochaev, whose interior has been drastically transformed thanks to the new iconostas. It will bring more festiveness and beauty to our services, and also will fill our hearts during times of prayer with thanksgiving for the generous gift, brought forth by the monastery’s benefactors. From the bottom of our hearts, the brotherhood and all residents of the monastery, along with the Faculty and students of the seminary, would like to thank everyone who took part in this noble cause.
