Visit of His Grace, Archbishop Anthony of Krasnoiarsk and Ienisei
On March 29, 2008, Archbishop Anthony of Krasnoiarsk and Ienisei visited Holy Trinity Monastery. During All-night Vigil Archbishop Anthony prayed in the altar, and at the conclusion of the Vigil brought out the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord for veneration. Many faithful gathered for veneration of the cross, among whom were Serbian Orthodox pilgrims.
On March 30, the Sunday of the Adoration of the Cross, Archbishop Anthony officiated at the Liturgy of St. Basil the Great. After the reading of the Gospel, Vladyka Anthony delivered a sermon, emphasizing the importance of spiritual life for every Christian. He added that the prayers of both parts of the Russian Orthodox Church resulted in the possibility of praying together before the Chalice of Christ, and that true Christian love overcomes all divisions.
At the conclusion of Divine Liturgy, Archbishop Anthony thanked the deputy abbot of Holy Trinity Monastery, Archimandrite Luke, and the brotherhood for having had the possibility of serving and praying at Holy Trinity Monastery.
After lunch, Archimandrite Luke presented Archbishop Anthony with an icon of St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco. Archbishop Anthony commented on life in his diocese, and presented the brotherhood with a model of the chapel of St. Parasceva.
His Grace specifically expressed a desire to visit Holy Trinity Monastery in order to pray at the resting place of the newly departed Metropolitan Laurus, where he prayed before leaving the Monastery.
