Concert in Synodal Cathedral
4/14/2002
The Holy Trinity Choir performed a concert of litugical music Sunday, April 14 at the Synodal Cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia in Manhattan, New York. The sold-out concert raised funds for the restoration of the Synod building.
Under the direction of Father Roman (Krassovsky) seventeen seminarians and monastics intensively prepared a repertoire of music sung at Holy Trinity Monastery throughout the year. Anatoly Panchoshnyy spent the week prior to the concert at the monastery to share his singing expertise with the choir. Former seminarians Father Andrei Papkov and Joseph McClellan rejoined the choir for this concert.
The choir was warmly received, giving several encores. His Grace, Bishop Gabriel of Manhatten also thanked the choir, urging it to make this concert an annual tradition.
